What is a Workflow Opportunity Map?

The short answer

A Workflow Opportunity Map is a $750 working engagement where I take one process in your business apart and write it up. It covers how the work runs today, where it breaks, what can be automated safely, what should stay human, and a price range for building it. You keep it whether I build anything or not.

What you get

Eleven sections, one workflow

It's a working session with me and then a written document, not a slide deck. This is what the document covers.

  • How the work actually happens today, mapped step by step
  • What the customer experiences at each step, and what that creates for you
  • Where it breaks, stalls, or gets dropped
  • What can safely be automated
  • What should stay human, and why
  • The approval and safety boundaries the system would run inside
  • Tools, access, and dependencies it would need
  • The recommended first fix, and whether it needs building at all
  • How we would measure whether it worked
  • Implementation scope and a price range
  • A phased roadmap for anything that comes after

What it costs

$750, and it comes off the build

The Map is $750. If you sign a build within 30 days, the $750 is credited toward it. Builds start at $2,500 and most land between $3,500 and $9,000 depending on how many systems have to agree, and the Map is where the real number for yours comes from.

A lot of people in this line of work will spend two unpaid hours designing your system, and that's really a sales meeting. I would rather charge a small fixed fee and hand you something you can use, including the parts that argue against building anything.

Whether or not I build it

You keep the map

If you take it to someone else, or build it in-house, or decide the honest answer is to fix the process before automating anything, the document still does its job. It's yours either way.

Before you buy one

Two free steps come first

Run the 60-second Fit Check, then there's a free 20-minute call to check I'm the right person for it. If the Fit Check tells you to leave the work alone, you don't need a Map, and I would rather you didn't buy one.

Start at the bottom of the staircase

Sixty seconds, and you will know whether this is worth another minute.

No account, no calendar, no waiting for a reply. Run the Fit Check and you get the read on your own screen. If it says the work is worth mapping, the next step is a free 20-minute call. If it says leave it alone, you have lost a minute and I have lost a customer I should not have had.
